Greg holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Welfare and Community Organizing from the California State University at San Diego, a Master’s in Divinity and Communications from Princeton and San Francisco Theological Seminaries and an MBA from Golden Gate University.
He is an ordained teaching elder of the Presbyterian Church, has served as the Vice-Chair of the Metropolitan Greater Oakland Democratic Club, served on a select Task Force of the Oakland Public Ethics Commission, and has served on the Boards of the Greater Mandana Action Coalition, the Asian American Foundation, the International Association of Public Participation, and the Asian Pacific Democratic Caucus of Alameda County. He resides in Oakland with his wife and daughter.
Marilyn Ng is an active member of the Alameda League of Women Voters. She has served as Board Director At-Large, Membership Chair, and presently as Vice-President of Programs. She received her B.A. from the Univ. of California, Berkeley, and a Masters in Library Studies from the Univ. of Hawaii at Manoa. She recently retired from the Library at her alma mater, U. C. Berkeley.
Dr. Jennifer Hidalgo Ong, the owner and sole practitioner of her Alameda optometric practice serves as a Commissioner for the Alameda County Commission on the Status of Women, Statewide Treasurer for the California Democratic Party’s Asian Pacific Islander Caucus, Vice President of Membership of the League of Women Voters Eden Area, an appointed board member of the Hayward Clean and Green Task Force and Vice President of the Democratic Club of Hayward and board member of the Citizens Advisory of the Eden Township Healthcare District.
Currently, she is the lead Coordinator for the Hepatitis B Free Campaign in Alameda County. After acquiring her Doctor of Optometry degree from U.C. Berkeley, Dr. Ong has committed her efforts to community service benefiting women and children’s issues, the environment and the protection of wildlife as well as programs that help promote safety and the healthy sustainable progress of the community through jobs that provide prosperity for working families.
Kenneth Pon graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, and now is a CPA with a private practice in downtown San Leandro. His involvement in San Leandro Unified began at the elementary level with the Dads Club, and continued through the middle and secondary levels. He was also the Chairman and treasurer of Yes For Kids! School Bond Committee, served on the District Action Planning Team for Facilities and the District Financial Resource Advisory Committee. Kenneth is a member and past Director of the San Leandro Chamber of Commerce, member and past president of the Downtown Business Association and the San Leandro Breakfast Club.
